Caring for our elderly is always challenging, but some of the issues families and care providers have had to face during the pandemic have been truly heart-breaking. I was recently contacted by a lady who was being denied access to her 90-year-old mother who is a resident of a care home. The lady was distraught as she has had no contact with her Mum since March. She has no prospect of seeing her elderly Mum until next year, based on the current stance of the Care Home. This lady worries that her Mum does not understand the situation and cannot comprehend why her daughter is no longer visiting her.
