We’re launching our Christmas appeal: Cards for Carers to spread cheer to carers this Festive Season!
Promedica24 has teamed up with The Care Workers’ Charity (CWC), Dementia Forward, Later Life Hub and Watkins Wright to encourage locals in North Yorkshire to share messages of thanks and support for carers in the run up to Christmas. Our Caring Trees have been placed in several locations around North Yorkshire. Each of them decorated with Christmas cards for people to write on them, leaving messages and words of support for care workers.
Considering the incredible dedication care workers have displayed throughout the pandemic, our Christmas appeal is a way to show carers how appreciated and valued they are by the British public and those who draw on their support.
Later Life Hub, Watkins Wright and Dementia Forward have all pledged their support by hosting Christmas trees in their premises to help spread cheer in their local communities. Watkins Wright, luxurious hairdresser salons, will be running draws for a free cut and blow-dry at each of their locations across the region. Five lucky winners will be announced on Christmas Eve.
We will be raising much-needed funds for The Care Workers’ Charity and Dementia Forward over the course of the campaign. After a tough year of lockdown restrictions, charities have faced significant reductions in income at a time when their services have never been needed more. All the money raised will go towards supporting the millions of care workers across the UK, many of whom spend the holidays looking after our loved ones.
There are lots of ways to get involved and support the campaign this year! You can make a donation to The Care Workers’ Charity and Dementia Forward using the links at the bottom of this page or visit one of our Caring Tree areas in-person.

Gary Derbyshire, Promedica24 North Yorkshire Partner and Vice-Chair of Later Life Hub, said:
“Christmas is a magical time for many, spent with family, friends and loved ones. For care workers, their role doesn’t stop over Christmas; they play a vital part in communities over the holidays, ensuring people get the support and care they need.
“Please join us in spreading cheer to carers this Christmas by sharing a message of thanks or support for a care worker during December. We would love to get as many people involved as possible sharing stories, support and appreciation for our amazing care workers who make a difference in people’s lives every day.”
Dementia Forward said: “It is important to recognise that while Christmas is a time of joy and happiness for many, for other it is not always the case. This campaign from Promedica24 and Later Life Hub gives people an opportunity to reflect and to give thanks, and we are so grateful to them for their support. We hope these Christmas trees bring a bit of festive cheer to all those that see them.”
