The PM24 Respite Passport enables you to secure up to 4/6/8 weeks of live-in respite care over one year. By purchasing the passport for a small initial fee of £50 (refunded if the entire 4/6/8 weeks are used), you can choose precisely how and when to take your respite break. With a minimum two-week notice, our team undertakes a provisional care assessment, followed by a full assessment closer to your respite date, ensuring that your unique needs are met with care and precision.
How It Works
- Easy Purchase & Flexibility: Purchase your one-year Respite Passport with a £50 initial payment. This fee is fully refunded if you use your weeks of respite care during the passport year.
- Change When You Need: Choose your available respite days or weeks based on your personal schedule. Whether you need a shorter 7-day break or longer periods up to 27 days, the passport gives you the flexibility to plan ahead.
- Pre-Care Assessment: We conduct a provisional pre-care assessment to understand your service level and a full assessment as your respite period approaches. This ensures that any changes in your care needs are promptly addressed before services are delivered.
- Simple Notice Period: Just provide us with a two-week notice to get your respite services scheduled and prepared, reducing the planning hassle when time for a break arrives.
The Cost Savings – A Closer Look
When it comes to managing expenses, every saving counts. The standard respite care setup typically adds extra costs to your weekly service rate. However, with the Respite Passport, the discounts are significant:
- · Without the Passport:
- For a short-term respite (0 to 13 days): Your additional cost might normally be the weekly service rate plus £750.
- For a longer respite (14 to 27 days): Standard additional cost might be the weekly service rate plus £550.
- With the Respite Passport:
- For 0 to 13 days of respite, the rate is reduced to the weekly service rate plus £225.
- For 14 to 27 days, you pay the weekly service rate plus only £125.
- For example, if your personal care is priced at £1,395 per week and the normal additional cost is £750, the total comes to £2,145 for a 7-day period. With the passport, you’d only pay £1,395 plus £225 – saving you £525 in that week alone. Over time, this means you could be saving the equivalent of over £3,000 in respite care costs during the year.
